Zoraya spent her formative years steeped in Hula in the islands of Hawaii. However, she is truly a daughter of the desert as she learned how to belly dance from Badia(1942-2002) of AliBaba here in Scottsdale, AZ. Along the way she has studied with Rania of LA and Leyla(in memory of, 2006) of Torrance. While under Leyla's direction of troupe Saharan Silk Zoraya competed with her and her troupe in the Belly Dancer of the Universe Contest in 2000. Zoraya placed 3rd that same year in the Egyptian category.

Presently, Zoraya performs in local Middle Eastern restaurants, yearly events like the AZ State Fair and Pagan Pride Day along with other local events.
